Development Progress
Building Bitcoin for the quantum era
Development Roadmap
Our path to delivering quantum-resistant Bitcoin
Phase 0: Foundation
- •Initial research into post-quantum cryptographic algorithms
- •Bitcoin protocol modification analysis
- •Selection of NIST-standardized post-quantum algorithms
- •Foundation architecture planning
Phase 1: Integrating Dilithium
Extending Dilithium support for addresses, transactions, scripts and consensus/mining
Phase 2: Testnet
Security, testing, and deployment, and whitepaper release
Phase 3: Mainnet
Mainnet launch with Dilithium support and open-source release
Releases
Pre-Release v0.1.0
2025-08-20Introducing major consensus changes in preperation for PQC signatures, regtest mining support, and genesis block configs
Latest Developer Notes
CCMiner
2025-11-12CCminer now fully connects with the BTQ network for solo and pool mining — including Dilithium address support and working payout logic. End-to-end mining flow tested successfully, marking a major step toward Testnet launch readiness.
BTQ Explorer
2025-11-05The explorer is feature-rich, offering real-time visibility into blocks, transactions, hashrates and UTXOs. Built on a fully modernized CLI stack, it supports BTQ’s new post-quantum transaction model and Dilithium-based cryptography. Extensive bug fixes, test coverage, and performance tuning preparing for rollout in the next phase.
Dilithium Integration Phase 6
2025-10-01Phase 6 implements comprehensive Dilithium transaction signing functionality for the BTQ wallet, enabling users to create and sign transactions using post-quantum cryptographic keys. The implementation provides full support for both legacy and witness script types, with proper signature placement and error handling.
